Composites

When combined with carbon or glass fibers, epoxy resin delivers a specific strength higher than steel, making it widely used in aerospace and sporting goods.

Impact strength can be increased more than fivefold by introducing rubber or core-shell particles for toughening, meeting the requirements of lightweight automotive components. A low viscosity (typically below 500 cP) ensures good fiber wet-out and bubble-free molding for large parts.

Under hot and humid conditions (80°C and 95% relative humidity), the retention rate of mechanical properties remains above 80%.

Typical products include prepregs, wind turbine blade shells, filament-wound pipes and tanks, and carbon fiber frames.
